Yosemite Technologies to Participate in Microsoft Webcast
1 January 1970Yosemite Technologies(TM), a global provider of backup solutions that span from single server environments to the enterprise, announced they will participate in Microsoft's TechNet Webcast titled "Disk-to-disk-to-tape Backup with DPM and Yosemite." Yosemite has supported the Microsoft(R) System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) since its beta release. This webcast will show how DPM enables you to streamline your backup infrastructure, use tape more effectively in the datacenter, and lower your overall cost on administrative overhead while protecting the data in your branches. The Yosemite Backup(TM) product line, designed to meet the needs of organizations with one to thousands of servers, seamlessly integrates backup, replication and data recovery when used in conjunction with DPM.
As the latest member of the Windows Server family, Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) is a server software application that is designed from the ground up to optimize disk-based backup and recovery. Backing up data to disk provides the fastest way to recover data lost to user error or software and hardware corruption. With Data Protection Manager, recovering information is as simple as browsing a share and copying directly from the Data Protection Manager to the production server.
Yosemite Backup provides users of DPM with:
* The ability to integrate the backup of replication volumes into the standard backup schedule, extending the protection of replicated data on DPM disks to include backup on a variety of media and disaster recovery * Data protection across any media, including disk, tape, optical and virtual tape libraries such as Yosemite's D2D2Ne(TM) (Disk-to-Disk- to-Any), so disk can be used to stage data and tape can be used for long term storage and/or archiving data * Backup of DPM replicas from any Yosemite Backup Master Server, allowing administrators to consolidate backups, which reduces costs and simplifies the backup process * Direct data restoration from the backup media to the production volume, allowing for faster data recovery and reduced costs.
"Yosemite is pleased to be invited by Microsoft to participate in their TechNet Webcast on disk-to-disk-to-tape backup with DPM and Yosemite," said John Maxwell, senior vice president of product management and marketing at Yosemite Technologies. "Yosemite Backup was the first backup software product to provide integration with DPM showing our commitment to being a leader in backup solutions for the Microsoft Windows Server platform."
