SUN MICROSYSTEMS AND PORTWISE TO DELIVER ENTERPRISE CLASS LINUX-BASED SSL VPN APPLIANCE

Sun Microsystems India Pvt Ltd and PortWise AB announced today that they are entering a sales, marketing and technology partnership, to deliver a Linux-based SSL VPN appliance This agreement will provide end-to-end Secure Application Access for remote workers, partners and customers across the country.

“Employees, partners and customers are demanding more flexible working practices” says Kaushik Thakkar, VP Asia Sales, PortWise. “For those customers who are looking for a best-of-breed plug and play appliance, the combination of PortWise SSL VPN, strong authentication and identity management software with Sun’s leading hardened platform delivers the highest levels of security for remotely accessing applications as well as helps reduce the cost and management complexity often associated with such solutions.”

The Sun Fire V20z appliance is the industry’s most advanced set of Internet security technologies. This appliance is not only easy to deploy, but offers a user-friendly user interface, one-click VPN deployment and one-click certificate for strong authentication. Besides this, the solution also offers a low total cost of ownership and investment protection.

The Sun/PortWise SSL VPN appliance is available immediately to Sun’s Indian Customers. Pricing starts at $ 6500.
