Stuart Varney, Contributor and Economist for Fox News to Headline Ziff Davis CIO Summit

1 January 1970

Ziff Davis announced today that it will hold its second annual CIO Summit, "Progressive Strategies for IT Consolidation," June 12 to 15, 2006 at the Silverado Resort, in Napa Valley, California. The invitation-only event, produced by the editors of Ziff Davis' award-winning enterprise technology publications, eWEEK, Baseline and CIO Insight, will feature an all-star line-up of Chief Information Officers, CEOs and senior-level technology officers.

Headlining the CIO Summit will be one of the most respected business journalists in the United States, Stuart Varney. He is currently a Contributor and Economist for the Fox News Channel. Mr. Varney will deliver a keynote speech titled "The New Realities of the Global Marketplace." A former host of CNBC's Wall Street Journal Editorial Board with Stuart Varney, he also was co-anchor of CNN's daily business program, The Moneyline News Hour. He was also part of the team that launched CNN's business news division.

Matthew Szulik, Chairman, CEO and President of Red Hat Inc. will also present a guest keynote speech. For more than 20 years, Mr. Szulik has been leading emerging technology companies, such as Red Hat, Interleaf and MapInfo, into global publicly traded firms. He also serves as a highly respected spokesperson on open source computing to industry, government, and education leaders.

"IT consolidation is a significant issue for today's CIO's," noted Martha Schwartz, Senior Vice President, Ziff Davis' Custom Solutions Group. "There is a considerable need for strategic information on how to effectively manage enterprise and global IT consolidation projects as well as understanding how IT vendor mergers will impact business. The 2006 Ziff Davis CIO Summit is the only industry conference that provides this type of invaluable, front-line, strategic information in an informal face-to-face environment."

The two-and-half-day interactive conference will provide CIO's strategies on how to ensure organizational success during mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. This unique summit will address urgent challenges related to internal IT consolidation. CIO's from Global 2000 companies will hear from executives who are driving mergers, acquisitions and business consolidation in the IT sector. A one-day online post-Summit event, "CIO Digital Symposium," will leverage the Summit content and include recorded highlights of the keynote address and speaker panels.

Among the notable speakers at the Summit include:

-- David Thompson, Senior Vice President and CIO, Symantec Corporation

-- Atefeh (Atti) Riazi, Senior Partner and CIO, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide

-- Steven Bandrowczak, Senior Vice President and CIO Lenovo Group, Ltd.

-- Jerry Bartlett, Senior Vice President and CIO, Ameritrade Holding

Corporation
