SOA: Ensuring a Competitive Advantage through Infrastructure Interoperability to Maximize ROI

1 January 1970

(PRWEB) March 24, 2006 -- In a free Xtalks webinar on April 13, 2006, James McKenney, Information Technology Security Officer, Security Bank of Kansas, and Stéphane Gagnon, Associate Professor, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Michael Curry, Product Marketing Manager, IBM Information Integration Solutions, will provide an overview of service-oriented architecture.

Xtalks is pleased to present the Service-Oriented Architecture Web Conference. There is still time to register for free at: http://www.xtalks.com/soa.ashx

Ensuring a Competitive Advantage through Infrastructure Interoperability to Maximize ROI

To ensure a competitive advantage companies today need to allow processes to interconnect easily in a flexible infrastructure based on business needs. Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is therefore an ideal approach for the modern enterprise. If properly managed and secured, it can provide the reliability and interoperability crucial to the open ended data flow needed to help companies succeed in this technologically driven economy.

To fully benefit from SOA, companies need to employ the right metrics and be consistent in their use. In the near future, as organizations increase the flexibility and responsiveness of their business processes by directly interoperating with their suppliers, customers, and other partners, the SOA approach will become indispensable.

The speakers will discuss such areas as:

•

How SOA relates/compares with other IT approaches (e.g., EA, BPM, BRE, MDA, EDA, etc.)?

•

What is the real value added to business and how does it improve ROI?

•

What is the impact (and relationship) of SOA with component/process reuse, model-driven engineering, Web Services vs. MQ/EAI vs. DW/EII vs Workflows/Portals?

•

The key success factors for SOA in the short vs. long run.

The web conference is sponsored by IBM WebSphere Information Integration, who will host a workshop following the keynote presentation and before the Q&A session.

Registration for the event is currently open and free at: http://www.xtalks.com/soa.ashx
