Ricoh Introduces the Aficio 615C
1 January 1970 Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today introduced the Aficio(R) 615C, its first color multifunctional system equipped with GelSprinter(TM) technology. A cost-effective business application product and entry-level color device, the Aficio 615C is the ultimate color solution for any small business or workgroup that desires the document management capabilities of their larger counterparts.
Priorities for today's small work environments include optimizing space, maintaining costs and keeping up with the competition. Combining power with value, the Aficio 615C offers copying, printing, scanning and optional facsimile features in a single device as well as networking capabilities that help establish proficient document workflow and enable users to work more effectively. Moreover, printing at up to 15 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white and six ppm in color, the Aficio 615C provides a wide range of print layouts that allow smaller workgroups to create professional documents with custom logos, watermarks and more. Additionally, using viscous ink, the GelSprinter technology produces high-quality black and white as well as color prints on plain paper, bringing affordable color to the most budget conscious organizations.
The ability to reduce distribution expenditures is yet another cost-saving feature of the Aficio 615C. Hardcopies can be scanned at 600 dots per inch (dpi) in various formats -- TIFF, PDF or JPEG -- and then shared with both internal and external contacts via Scan-to-Email and Scan-to-Folder. End users can also lookup addresses in real time with the Aficio 615C's LDAP functionality. The fax option enables the system to utilize a 33.6 Kbps modem, Internet, LAN and IP-Fax functionality.
Individual long-life ink cartridges, color mode controls and optional duplex copying and printing are additional features that make the Aficio 615C's affordable total cost of ownership possible. Also understanding that time is precious, Ricoh equipped the Aficio 615C with PDF Direct Print as well as its Refined Print Command Stream (RCPS(TM)) driver, which allows users to save custom print settings for common jobs under individual icons and perform those jobs with a simple click of the mouse.
Being that security is an issue in an organization of any size, the Aficio 615C utilizes enhanced security features including user codes, authentication, encryption, unauthorized copy control, hold print and more. The optional DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) enables the device to overwrite latent data on the system's hard drive after copy, scan, fax and print jobs. Furthermore, Ricoh's DOSS security feature has been ISO 15408 certified to provide independent third party verification that the security feature operates as intended.
The Aficio 615C is equipped with an adjustable control panel that includes a tilt down feature to provide comfort for anyone to use standing or sitting. An optional accessibility handle also enables easier and more comfortable access to paper trays. A comprehensive multifunctional solution, the Aficio 615C comes standard with a 250-sheet paper tray, as well as a 100-sheet Bypass tray and 1-sheet Bypass tray that can handle paper sizes up to 12" x 18". Up to two optional 500-sheet paper trays are also available, making the maximum paper capacity 1,351-sheets. Making device maintenance more efficient, Ricoh's desktop management solutions such as Web Image Monitor and WebSmartDeviceMonitor(TM), as well as @ Remote, its Intelligent Remote Management System, are also available with the Aficio 615C.
