Mi-Co Announces Beta Program for Mi-Forms Version 5 SDK
1 January 1970Mi-Co, the mobile data capture company, announced today two major advancements in the Mi-Forms product line: the general availability of Release 4.5 and beta release of the Version 5 Mi-Forms Software Development Kit (SDK).
The beta program for the Mi-Forms Version 5 SDK provides major enhancements to an already robust development environment. These enhancements include the addition of a rich, platform-independent open object model built on Microsoft .NET technology. This will allow unique handwriting recognition and mobile data capture capabilities to be easily integrated with enterprise applications (including web browser applications).
"Each year, Mi-Co has an objective of shipping one major release and one maintenance release a year. The year 2004 is the third year in a row we have achieved that goal," said Greg Clary, Chief Technology Officer of Mi-Co, "and in addition, based on alpha program feedback, the enhancements to the Mi-Forms SDK in Version 5 keep Mi-Co on the leading edge of enabling enterprise mobile data capture solutions."
The major upgrades to the Mi-Forms System in Release 4.1, which shipped in the second quarter of 2004, allowed Mi-Forms customers to achieve true platform independence for digital ink applications. The release included support for Tablet PCs, Logitech io Digital Pens and HP Digital Pens.
Release 4.5 includes support for the new generation of Logitech io pens, the io2, and server support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, update 3.
