Lifeboat Version Two Earns Top Marks
1 January 1970 Version two of the award winning data retrieval program Lifeboat Data Rescue has just been launched by Tugboat Enterprises Ltd and it is getting high praise from industry leaders like PCNet-Online. Don Watkins, who gave top billing to Lifeboat Data Rescue V1.1 writes in PC Net, "Version 2.0 has been released and I'm even more impressed." Watkins, a veteran software reviewer, commented: "I was pleased to find that 2.0 was a genuine improvement with updates to the core functions rather than adding new graphics or changing the wrapper." Notable in the numerous changes to the Data Rescue program is the installer. Version 2.0 of Lifeboat Data Rescue provides a phenomenal improvement to the method of creating your Lifeboat CD. The installer adds a Windows interface to the process of creating your recovery CD. It places a folder in your start menu, which includes a CD-writing utility, the Lifeboat Navigator's Manual, and a quick-start guide to Lifeboat. "Lifeboat is designed to be a simple means for recovering data from a failed computer. Anywhere we can simplify and improve the process of creating your Lifeboat CD or of booting to Lifeboat is where we focus our resources," said Jonathan Lyster, Chief Technology Officer for Tugboat Enterprises. "We are delighted with the response to Lifeboat Data Rescue V.2," commented Nathan Potechin, V.P. sales. "We are currently reworking our web site and plan an aggressive sales campaign early in the New Year, so this product's release and the wonderful response to it is very timely."
