Justsystem Announces xfy Basic Edition 1.0

1 January 1970

Today at the 2005 JavaOne Conference and Expo, Justsystem Corporation, (JASDAQ: 4686), announces xfy Basic Edition 1.0, an integrated XML application development/runtime/authoring environment, along with two associated development tools. The new environment will free XML technology from the confines of servers and extend it to the client -- enabling a new generation of XML-based desktop and mobile applications. The 2005 JavaOne Conference is the largest congregation of Java software developers in the world, held in San Francisco from June 27-30.

The xfy Basic Edition 1.0 beta version for developers is available immediately for download from the xfy website (www.xfytec.com). On this website, components and technical information will be provided to enhance
collaboration with developers. Shipment of the commercial version is scheduled for October.

"Before xfy, there were solutions available to edit XML, and others that assisted in authoring, but there hasn't been a comprehensive solution that enables users to edit, author, and view XML in a simple and straightforward
fashion," said Mr. Kazunori Ukigawa, CEO of Justsystem Corporation. "xfy fulfills the need for a comprehensive solution and also provides a powerful runtime and development environment for unlimited XML vocabulary and
complicated structured document -- this is truly a paradigm shift for the industry. There is no other solution like xfy on the market today.

This product is the company's first software solution that derives from Justsystem's xfy technology. It is also the world's first software architecture that allows any XML document containing diverse XML vocabularies to be rendered, authored and edited as a single data set. The xfy technology was announced on November 16, 2004 at the XML Conference & Exposition 2004 in Washington, D.C. xfy is an integrated environment with application runtime, authoring tools and a development environment.

Unlimited Capability and Breakthrough Client Application Runtime xfy Basic Edition 1.0 revolutionizes the way XML documents are processed. Unlike conventional XML editing software and browsers that cannot easily
handle diversified XML documents, applications built on xfy Basic Edition 1.0 can seamlessly author, edit and view complex XML documents that consist of diverse elements such as text, images and tables on a single client display. xfy can handle any kind of XML vocabulary from standard to private. Its extensible architecture offers unlimited nesting capabilities, allowing XML documents of any complexity of structure and way of usage to be managed within xfy.
xfy Basic Edition 1.0 is not only an XML document authoring/editing tool, but also integrates a runtime environment for XML-processing components. xfy components are programs for processing XML data that are described in an XML vocabulary known as XVCD. XVCD allows developers to efficiently describe the XML data processing steps necessary for their application. The xfy software is built entirely on Java technology and runs on multiple platforms including Windows, Linux and UNIX.

Rapid Development and Deployment Features
In addition to xfy Basic Edition 1.0, application software developers can also use xfy View Designer 1.0 and xfy Developer's Tool Kit 1.0 -- software development tools also announced today -- to quickly and efficiently develop xfy components that are executable under a multi-platform environment.

Since the announcement of xfy technology in November last year, Justsystem has been enhancing this technology on various fronts, based on feedback from leading engineers and developers from around the world who have tested and evaluated the preview version. The new product will provide development professionals with the optimum software environment for directly handling XML documents and data, making it possible to capture useful know-how and valuable experiences in day-to-day business and turn them into practical business
solutions.
