ISKM'S BACKUP SOLUTION USES OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE
1 January 1970Edinburgh based ISKM Limited has just introduced its first commercial data backup product, based on Open Source software.
This data backup software uses Open Source technology to securely backup data from business computers in offices and store the data on a secure backup server, in a separate location.
ISKM’s move to use Open Source software to deliver such a crucial business service highlights that Open Source technologies are swiftly becoming accepted in business worldwide.
Open Source software has recently come into the spotlight following the success of the web browser, Firefox.
ISKM’s Managing Director, Hamish Robertson commented on the use of Open Source, saying, “Our customers want a cost effective solution which is very secure and reliable.”
Pauline Edmiston from Transformation Team, ISKM’s more recent backup client, said: “We chose ISKM because they could tailor a service specifically to the needs of our organization. The another reason was the helpful and personal approach given by the ISKM team.”
