Industry Thought Leaders Including Boeing and General Motors to Share Strategies and Techniques for Innovation and Global Competitive Advantage at MSC

1 January 1970

MSC.Software Corp. (OTC: MNSC), the leading global provider of enterprise simulation solutions including simulation software and services today announced the keynote speakers for their 2006 Americas Virtual Product Development Conference. The VPD conference provides the opportunity for the global engineering community to learn from thought leaders in aerospace, automotive and manufacturing -- and from the success of their peers. The conference will take place July 17-19 in Huntington Beach, Calif.

This year's Virtual Product Development (VPD) Conference, themed "the evolution to enterprise simulation," spans three days and is designed to help companies maximize their return on enterprise simulation investments, ensure right-to-market and minimize time-to-market for products in highly competitive global environments.

"As the premier industry conference, exploring all aspects of virtual product development, the Americas 2006 VPD conference will spotlight strategies to help engineering teams meet the ever-increasing pressures of time, cost, quality, and performance," said Andrew Meyer, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, MSC.Software. "As we explore the evolution of enterprise simulation -- which creates improved communication and collaboration in product design and manufacturing processes -- we've invited industry experts to share their thoughts on how technology can accelerate time and right to market."

Keynote speakers for the conference are scheduled to include:

* Dave Fennell, vice president of information technology at the Boeing

Company, who is responsible for the design and support of company-wide

engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance systems for the Boeing

Commercial Airplanes Unit.

* Charles Foundyller, CEO of Daratech, is the author of world-renowned

research and is known for his in-depth analyses of domestic and foreign

markets for PLM, CAE, CAD, and PDM, as these technologies are applied

to product creation and manufacturing as well as to engineering, and

construction, in the oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical and power

generation industries.

* Daniel Burrus, one of the world's leading technology forecasters and

business strategists, is the author of "Technotrends: How To Use

Technology To Go Beyond The Competition" and "Technostrategies:

Creating and Sustaining Strategic Advantage." Burrus was the only

futurist to accurately identify the top technology categories that

drove revolutionary change, and has established a worldwide reputation

for his exceptional record of accurately predicting technological

change and its direct impact on the business world.

* Ed Miller, president of CIMdata Inc. and internationally recognized

authority on PLM, will discuss the economic value of enterprise wide

simulation deployments. CIMdata Inc. is the independent worldwide firm

that provides strategic consulting to maximize an enterprise's ability

to design and deliver innovative products and services by applying PLM

strategies.

* Thomas Tecco is the director of Global CAE/Test Systems and Electrical

for the Information Systems and Services Organization at General

Motors. Tecco joined General Motors from MacNeal-Schwendler

Corporation (MSC), where he was vice president and general manager of

the Automotive Group. Prior to MSC, Tecco was vice president of

Engineering with Automated Analysis Corporation where he was

responsible for the engineering services and commercial software

groups.

* Professor Haichen Yang, from the China Aerospace & Technology

Corporation, the developer of low earth orbit, geostationary and

sun-synchronous rockets. Yang has focused on research, development,

organization, management and applications of many key projects in the

areas of national defense technology and advanced research of military

projects, and has devoted his career to improving traditional

manufacturing using information technology.

* Donald H. Brown, managing partner of CPD Associates, has developed and

managed over a dozen collaborative research programs and advisory

services targeting the leading edge for the implementation and

development of distributed technology, and has produced many incisive

and in-depth studies. He has advised senior executives, developers,

implementers, and investors from large companies and start-ups. Don's

clients have ranged from the automotive and aerospace sectors to the

leading computer systems companies, as well as applications vendors in

design and engineering.

* Dick Rutan, Voyager test pilot, is a successful and decorated pilot who

has experienced flight to the fullest since he took to the air at the

age of 16. Rutan is the first pilot to ever complete a non-stop,

non-refueled flight around the world, known as the Voyager, which

defines Rutan's tremendous courage, vision, adventure and the Voyager

is often referred to as "aviation's last first."

In addition to having the opportunity to network with colleagues in their respective fields, attendees will hear from industry leaders presenting over 70 technical and management presentations, professional development opportunities and specialized seminars. The VPD Americas conference is expected to attract nearly 700 engineers and senior executives from industries including automotive, aerospace, biomedical, civil engineering, defense, and general machinery.
