FOSE 2005 Grows and Prospers as Government Technology Spending Soars
1 January 1970FOSE 2005 kicked off government's spring buying season with the event's highest impact conference and exposition in its 29 year history. FOSE 2005, which took place on April 5-7 at the Washington DC Convention Center, attracted nearly 20,000 public sector information technology professionals to the Washington DC Convention Center for the largest technology conference and exhibition for government. Over 531 companies exhibited, and public and private sector leaders delivered major policy addresses.

* Number of exhibitors increased 6% over FOSE 2004, and exhibitor re-sign rate for FOSE 2006 was 59%.
* Over 150 new products were introduced at FOSE this year.

* Clusters of demonstrations centers were filled to capacity, with government agency technology professionals showcasing military applications in the DoD Center; electronic government in E-Town; business transformation in the Showcase of Excellence; and systems assisting in the global War on Terrorism in the Homeland Security Center. In addition, there were packed Linux, Small Business and Data Center Storage Pavilions providing specialized demonstrations and training.
* Partnership with the country's largest information technology companies remained strong with Accenture, HP, Lockheed Martin, IBM, Cisco Systems, Apple, AT&T Wireless, CDW Government, and hundreds of other suppliers.
* International countries touted 53 companies from the UK, Australia, Canada, Northern Ireland and Korea who demonstrated leading-edge technologies to the military, homeland security and Federal agencies that combed FOSE's exhibit floor for technology solutions.
* FOSE's national reputation continues to drive significant editorial for its exhibitors through television broadcast affiliates such as News Channel 8, FOX 5, NBC4, WTTG, and the United States' middle east station, Alhurra, radio stations such as the Voice of America, WTOP, WMAL, and National Public Radio's WAMU; national print publications such as The Washington Post, Newsweek, Barron's Weekly, Knight Ridder and US News and World Report; trade publications including Government Computer News, Washington Technology, InfoWorld, InformationWeek, CIO magazine as well as hundreds of technology and government-focused publications.
