Empower Technologies(TM) Appoints Chief Operating Officer

Empower Technologies Corporation ("Empower") is very pleased to announce that Dr. K.T. Ma has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development of its US subsidiary Empower Technologies, Inc. effective May 1, 2006.

With over twenty-seven years working experiences in some of the most recognized technology and industry leaders in the world (Westinghouse, Bell Labs/AT&T, GTE/Verizon, Marconi, and Huawei), Dr. Ma has held various senior management positions and lead projects ranging in size from $250M to $1.2B, in the area of Global Marketing, Large-scale Systems Integration, Process Engineering, Business Development, Planning, Engineering, Operations and Advance Research.

In addition, Dr. Ma holds more than 45 awards and acknowledgements from various organizations for his outstanding contributions in advanced telecommunication & power industries. He published 7 seminar workbooks, 31 journal/ proceeding papers and more than 108 internal technical, business/ marketing reports and specifications. Currently, he also serves as an Advisor for the College of Business, University of Dallas in Texas for both Telecommunications and a newly developed Energy Management MBA Program to focus on Policy, Technologies, Economics/Strategy, Trends, Management and Methodology. Dr. Ma obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburg.

Empower Technologies has granted Dr. Ma options for 50,000 shares for five years at the exercise price of $1.12 per share.
