Dot Hill Joins the Intel Enterprise Server Acceleration Alliance

1 January 1970

Dot Hill (Nasdaq: HILL) today announced that it has qualified its SANnet® II storage systems and SANscape® storage management software on Intel® Corporation's carrier-grade server products to provide telecommunications customers with combined NEBS (Network Equipment Building System) level 3 certified solutions. The operating systems tested include Red Hat® Linux, Novell® SUSE(TM) Linux, Microsoft® Windows® and MontaVista(TM) Linux. This enables OEM customers and channel partners to bring pre-qualified solutions to market in less time and with more efficiency.

Dot Hill also announced today that it has joined the Intel Enterprise Server Acceleration Alliance (ESAA) program providing Intel-based server OEMs who belong to the alliance a conduit for offering qualified Telco storage solutions. The objective of the ESAA is to enable OEMs with timely and cost-effective server platform solution "recipes" based on independent vendor components that are validated to work with Intel-based servers. More information on the Intel Enterprise Server Acceleration Alliance is available at www.intel.com/go/esaa.

"The Intel ESAA program presents us with a significant opportunity to broaden our exposure to both OEM customers and channel partners," said Phil Davis, Dot Hill's senior vice president worldwide sales and marketing. "As this is the first NEBS storage device certified with the Intel ESAA program, for now the focus will be on carrier-class solutions targeted to the telecommunications sector, with the opportunity to expand to broader solution offerings in the future."

Dot Hill's ESAA membership is focused around pre-qualification of its products and reference selling via joint OEM field engagement. Dot Hill and participating OEMs will have access to pre-qualified ESAA solution recipes.

"The ESAA enables OEMs faster time to market by reducing certification barriers and allows them to confidently and more quickly implement pre- qualified solutions," said Jeff Richardson, vice president, Digital Enterprise Group, general manager, Server Platforms Group, Intel Corporation. "Dot Hill's participation in ESAA brings a NEBS level 3 certified line of storage solutions to the program, effectively extending the program to the telco sector."

SANnet II storage solutions bring carrier-grade reliability and enterprise-class features to open systems platforms. They are certified to meet NEBS Level 3 and ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) telecommunications standards. Detailed information on SANnet II is available at www.dothill.com/products/storage.htm.
