DM Solutions Group Announces Chameleon 2.0 Availability
1 January 1970DM Solutions Group Inc., a leading Open Source and open standards Web mapping solutions company, today announced the availability of Chameleon version 2.0, an Open Source technology which allows users to easily create highly customizable Web mapping applications.
Chameleon technology was harnessed in the Tsunami Disaster Mapping Portal (DMapP), a Web site created by DM Solutions Group to help aid workers coordinate efforts during the recent crisis in the Indian Ocean Basin. The extreme versatility and flexibility of Chameleon allowed for rapid deployment of this emergency mapping application.
"The flexibility and reliability of Chameleon technology makes it a very effective technology for advanced Web mapping solutions," said Paul Spencer, software and applications project manager at DM Solutions Group. "The fact that Chameleon is Open Source and supports Open Geospatial Consortium standards makes it accessible to virtually everyone."
This latest version of Chameleon provides the flexibility for users to leverage both remote data using OGC data sources as well as locally hosted data. It also includes many new features and widgets, and substantial performance enhancements.
Chameleon 2.0 contains updated and improved technical documentation, including a new, interactive widget document viewer. Also, several sample applications are now provided within the toolkit.
