DemandTec Recognized as Laureate by the Computerworld Honors Program
1 January 1970 Retail Systems 2006 Conference and Expo, Booth 1702 -- DemandTec, Inc., the leading provider of Consumer-Centric Merchandising, Sales, and Marketing software for retailers and consumer products firms, has been recognized as a Laureate by the Computerworld Honors Program. For almost two decades, Computerworld Honors has acknowledged those individuals and organizations that have used information technology to benefit society. This year's honorees will be commemorated during the 18th Annual Laureates Medal Ceremony & Gala Awards Evening on June 5, 2006 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. "We are extremely honored to have been selected to receive this prestigious award," said Dan Fishback, CEO of DemandTec. "This recognition from IDG's Computerworld Honors Program is validates the tremendous value our Consumer-Centric Merchandising, Sales, and Marketing software provides to the retail and consumer products industries, as well as to consumers at large in terms of having the right products available at the right price." Each year, members of the Chairmen's Committee identify the organizations whose use of information technology has been especially noteworthy for the originality of its conception, the breadth of its vision, and the significance of its benefit to society. These identified organizations are asked to contribute a case study to the program's collection, and the donation of these case studies is celebrated with a formal medal ceremony in June where an accepted case study Laureate from each organization is publicly recognized. Independent of the Laureate recognition, the Computerworld Honors Program also annually presents its Leadership Awards, each designed to honor the extraordinary achievements of selected individuals whose positive contributions to the IT revolution have left an indelible mark on the world. "Each year, the Computerworld Honors Program seeks to recognize organizations, from a variety of sectors, for their ongoing efforts to utilize technology in order to benefit society," said Bob Carrigan, Chairman of the Computerworld Honors Program Chairmen's Committee and President, IDG Communications. "We are proud to provide a platform to publicly acknowledge these contributions."
