Comcourse Unveils Low-Cost LMS at Career College Association Conference
1 January 1970Comcourse Corporation unveiled their Learning Bridge™, a next generation, fully featured, hosted LMS at this years Career College Association conference in Las Vegas. The new LMS provides more features and functions than any competing program, and has a per student enrollment price as much as 80% less than schools are currently paying. It was the hit of the show, with people lining up to see the various interactive and webcast features.
James Chellis, CEO, said "We have spent two and a half years developing a next-generation fully-hosted LMS, testing and proving it." He added, "We took a hard look at what other vendors were offering, and went several steps beyond. We are now able to offer functionality which other vendors cannot deliver, and do so at considerable savings." He added, "We saw the limited choices that schools and universities had, and how incredibly expensive they were for what they were getting. We knew we could develop an LMS product that would do more for much less. By leveraging open source technology, including the Linux platform and clustered MySQL, we are able to avoid the 'Microsoft Tax' for ourselves and our customers, while providing a higher level of security, customization, and stability."
Matthew Sheltz, Comcourse CTO added, "We provide a fully hosted solution in two of the best datacenters in the world, with incredibly fast no-cost customization, 24x7x365 coverage and support, and 99.99% uptime." Mr. Sheltz added, "Plus we migrate courses hosted by other vendors for no added fee and we also offer really useful built-in features that no one else has. If we see something new, or one of our customers makes a request, we can usually add the function very quickly, again for no cost. This is a tremendous benefit and savings in time and money for the schools."
David Swalve, conference attendee and Director for Pinnacle Career Institute Online, added that "We use the Comcourse Learning Bridge™, and it's one of the first Learning Management Systems I’ve seen. It does it all and at a price that is irresistible. Other people at the conference who had the chance to see it loved it." He added "The Comcourse LMS even supports my Mac running OS X Tiger, including a WYSIWYG editor that’s inside a Firefox browser. No more boring HTML coding. It's the LMS product that schools have been asking for. And Comcourse has it."
The Comcourse Learning Bridge™ is available today for both Windows and Mac clients. For schools which currently use an old LMS, Comcourse will migrate and setup the courses at no charge. For a demonstration of the program, please contact Fiachra O'Sullivan at Fiachra at comcourse.com.
