BindView Launches Next-Generation Policy Compliance Solution
1 January 1970Provides IT Security & Compliance for Multi-Platform Environments with Connectors to HP Service Desk and Remedy Help Desk for Remediation
Providing organizations with solutions to meet IT security and compliance requirements, BindView Corp. (Nasdaq:BVEW) announced today the availability of Compliance Center 2.0, the latest product in the company's next-generation Policy Compliance solutions. The enhanced solution -- supporting Windows, UNIX, Linux and NetWare environments -- helps organizations establish internal IT controls and standards for demonstrating regulatory due care, then measure results against established benchmarks. Compliance Center is the first software of its kind to be certified against the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Level-2 Benchmarks.
In conjunction with BindView's newly announced strategy, Compliance Center now integrates with HP Service Desk and Remedy Help Desk, helping IT operations automate a closed-loop lifecycle process for remediating security and compliance vulnerabilities. (See today's accompanying release: "BindView Unveils Broad Integration Strategy Across Industry Leading Solutions.")
As evidenced by the widespread challenges of meeting Sarbanes-Oxley audit requirements, organizations face a litany of important regulatory mandates that require their business-critical IT infrastructures to meet security and compliance audits. Compliance Center helps organizations build a foundation for securing their IT infrastructures based on industry best practices that can be tailored to fit the organization's risk posture and business objectives. Precise reports show where an organization meets -- or fails -- established compliance standards.
"Organizations in both the public and private sector face dramatic challenges in meeting the stringent IT security and compliance requirements of today's regulatory landscape," said Gartner Inc. Vice President Mark Nicolett. "As auditors conduct evaluations of their infrastructures, the myriad requirements for demonstrating due care and managing IT controls are forcing enterprises to ensure best practices are in place and enforced."
"Compliance Center helps organizations meet strict security and compliance requirements as they prepare to endure lengthy audits and attestation sign-offs. At no time has there been greater scrutiny of back office operations," said Shekar Ayyar, BindView's senior vice president of product marketing. "Compliance Center helps organizations demonstrate due care by providing prescriptive guidance for configuring, securing and remediating IT systems, and implementing appropriate IT controls."
According to BindView President and Chief Operating Officer Arshad Matin, Compliance Center has met multiple development and financial goals. "The on-time and under-budget introduction of Compliance Center 2.0 is a testimony to the effectiveness and efficiency of the new product development process that spans our Houston and Pune R&D centers," he said. "We will leverage this new development capability to significantly accelerate the pace of innovation while lowering development costs."
